GOLDEN DROPS OF LIFE (Our Clients – Interview)

GOLDEN DROPS OF LIFE (Our Clients – Interview)

We needed to pause and reflect, to rewind our perspective by a few years. Now, thinking back, collecting impressions, recalling memorable moments and many clients, we realized we could offer our existing clients even more value. We decided to spread the word about each of them so their stories—whether already heard or not—can be amplified through us. We know them all individually, we know what they do, and how much effort they invest to win daily market battles; we are their extended arm, and every one of their successes is, in fact, our success too.

The first story takes us to Potkozarje, to the village of Donji Podgradci and the Dojčinović family, who have been fruit growers for decades. Only with Mihajlo and his wife Gordana did they complete the circle, and under today’s Fruit Organica brand they offer the market far more than table fruit. On their estate they both grow and process fruit. We speak with Mihajlo, owner and director of Agro Nektar d.o.o., about beginnings, the current situation, and future plans.

V: Mihajlo, tell us briefly—what is Agro Nektar?
M.D.
Agro Nektar is a family company created to employ our household and turn our ideas into reality.

V: It’s wonderful that, amid a flood of artificial imported products, you offer the market domestic, natural juices. How did your story begin?
M.D.
Our parents started our story more than four decades ago. We’re now writing new chapters and, importantly, we’ve passed the halfway point. Because the market for agricultural products was disorganized, we chose processing—offering the same fruit in liquid form with a shelf life of two to three years, instead of selling it straight from the tree.

V: How do customers respond to your 100 % cold-pressed fruit and vegetable juices?
M.D.
People’s purchasing power is low, so unfortunately they buy what their budget allows. Yet in all the time we’ve been operating we haven’t received negative feedback. Many customers use our juices to improve their blood counts—for example, our well-known “carrot, beetroot, apple & lemon” juice. We’re glad buyers know what they’re getting and trust us.

V: Besides juices, do you offer other products?
M.D.
Our core activity is fruit production, and our story has three streams. One-third of the fruit is top-grade and sold fresh. Another third goes into juice. The remaining third is distilled into fruit brandies and liqueurs. So we have three product lines: fresh fruit; natural juices (plus apple butter and several spreads); and fruit brandies and liqueurs.

V: What are your short- and long-term plans?
M.D.
Over the next two years we plan to certify production, since some orchards are under organic cultivation, and separate the two lines completely. We also plan to buy newer equipment and, if all goes well, expand capacity. This autumn we’ll start renewing the orchards, planting one hectare of new varieties each year.

V: You grow your own fruit—does farming pay off? What advice would you give young farmers?
M.D.
Farming is sadly less and less valued, even though we produce something that has no substitute—food. Food can’t be made by a CNC machine or remote work. The only way to survive is through a closed cycle. Honestly, I’m not sure what to tell young people—work is a must and not everyone should aim only to move to the EU. Try, create new products, and you’ll manage.

V: Finally, are you satisfied with our services and what is the biggest benefit of using a virtual office?
M.D.
We’re very satisfied—we got exactly what we asked for. An additional benefit is your help with every administrative step and paperwork with institutions. I’d especially praise that you recognized the quality of our products and try to recommend them to a wider market through your personal and business contacts. Thank you! All recommendations from us go to you and your work.

The Dojčinović family are a bright example of people who stayed on their land and knew they had to roll up their sleeves to live by its rules. The land demands a lot, but when you give it a lot it gives back even more. If you combine land with new ideas, positive energy, and good people, you’ve discovered the formula of life—and that’s the Dojčinović story. We thank them for their time.

This was the first in a series of interviews with our clients. Our goal is to present examples of people who channel their ideas and work into creating new value through their own businesses, and to show the wider public that with perseverance you can still achieve something on our market. The series is designed to be affirmative—to keep young people believing in their ideas and spur them into action. A new story is coming soon.
